BIOGRAPHY

"It seems to be a law of nature, inflexible and inexorable, that those who will not risk cannot win."  John Paul Jones

Michael R. Hagy is the co-founder and Managing Principal of the Pinnacle Performance Group.

Michael has hands-on experience in business team development, executive coaching, leadership and management skills training, strategic planning and project management.  Among his current client base are manufacturing, engineering, software development and service companies in the public and private sectors, financial, engineering and educational institutions, U.S. government agencies, the U.S. Navy and numerous not-for-profit organizations.

He is a highly sought public speaker on common sense solutions to today's business challenges.  In addition to speaking at national conferences and regional events, Michael routinely helps businesses through forums at Chambers of Commerce and public institutions such as the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.   He has been a featured guest on more than a hundred radio and television programs to discuss his book on managing in today's workplace, "Under New Management: Organized Common Sense."  He teaches the capstone MBA course "Strategic Planning in a Global Environment" for the School of Business Administration.  In the fall of 2011, he will teach a second MBA course "Tools of Business Leadership" for the University

.

A commissioned officer in the United States Navy, Commander Hagy, US Navy (Retired), was one of a handful of officers dual-qualified as a Naval Aviator and a Surface Warfare Officer.  His experience included three tours at sea as ship's company, and four aviation squadron tours.  Mr. Hagy holds a BS in Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland (1971); graduated "with distinction" from the U.S. Naval War College (1983); and earned his MS in Systems Management from the University of Southern California (1984).

For the past several years, Michael has focused on developing the leadership traits and management skills of clients’ “next generation” of leaders.  His consulting philosophy combines the "hard" aspects of business management, (fact-based decision making, process improvement and metrics), with the “human” needs of the organization, (such as project team development, executive coaching, and Peer Leadership Coaching©), to produce progress that can be measured in a documented return on investment.
